Finally got some posters printed and have put them up around Tsawwassen to help raise awareness of the impact this development will cause on the community
Save Our Southlands
My latest work is a graphic poster for a local issue. I chose to do mine on the Southlands, a large 500 acres or so of agricultural land that’s due for a 2000 unit development. Speaking honestly the whole proposal by the Century Group developers does seem pretty enticing at first. A nicely design brochure came by my house the other day, outlining the key attractions for their proposal. Community farming, market square, parks and trails and so on. As this does sound nice at first it’s going to seriously congest what was at one point a cozy cottage area, not to mention the estimated 5000 new residents to all of Tsawwassen. Maybe good for business but bad if you like living in a spacious nature filled area. Needless to say we’ll definitely feel the added 5000 new residents.

Fruit Smoothies! Delicious AND Nutritious!
I’m just about to go make myself a delicious fruit smoothy, but before I do I thought I would post about how great they are! I mean c’mon you grab some fruit, get some orange juice, blend that stuff up. Easy peasy lemon squeezey
Smoothie.. ssmmooooooooooothhie.. It’s a weird word if you say it a few times. Sounds like something someone from the 50′s would say.

Star Wars and the dance floor
You know there used to be a time where people who liked Star Wars were considered nerdy and so very uncool, not anymore. Perhaps the same will happen with Star Trek, although I doubt it. Introducing Star Wars in an all new look, FRESSSHHHHHH. AT-AT shoes are amazing, PSHOOM! That shit looks straight outta Hoth, FO REAL!
This pair is probably my favorite. Fine detailing and so very Stormtrooperesk, and the packaging is pretty damn cool too.
Some.. Not so great.. Do you really need a crappy fabric tube lightsaber?
Sleep Over?
If you haven’t already seen this on Geekologie I thought this was pretty cool. A new take on the pull out couch for times when you have two guy friends stay over that are uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed together.
Now I can have two friends sleep over! yay
Video Chat
So! The other day I hung out with my friend via video chat. Seriously it was an awesome time. Once we got a stable connection the talking was solid for around half an hour. It was just as real as hanging out in person and whats more, we were able to play against each other in Call of Duty while still talking on video chat. We tried 3 different programs, Google Talk was the best over iChat and Skype. If you didn’t know this Google Talk can be found in your iChat. Preferences > Accounts > + > Google Talk. You just use your Gmail info to sign in, super easy!
Super fun and I foresee vast improvements in the field in the future. In fact, I bet you’ll have a giant screen for the single purpose of video chats. Or at least some kind of giant screen capable of flawless video chats. Then I bet someone will find a way to hack the system and spy on people while they’re sleeping, its going to cause a real disturbance in the future. Consider yourself warned.
